A unique vineyard from 'The Corner' of Anderson Valley. This site is considered to be special due to the steep hillsides, aspect, and light gravelly soils that combine to create optimal ripening conditions. This very rugged vineyard continuously produces fruit of great depth and character. Our 'Corners" Pinot Noir is typically sourced from the upper elevation blocks (pommard clone) , where small vines and berries produce a concentrated and opulent wine.

2024 WALT The Corners Pinot Noir

Tasting notes

The 2024 The Corners Pinot Noir is a quietly compelling, site-driven expression, opening with restrained aromas of wild blueberries layered with toasted spice, fallen leaves, and dried mint. The palate is finely etched and defined by mineral tension, balancing cool fruit with savory undertones and subtle forest floor complexity. Silky yet structured, the wine moves with poise and precision, finishing long with iron-tinged minerality and a lingering herbal resonance that underscores its sense of place and age-worthy refinement.

Vintage Notes

The 2024 vintage began with much needed winter rainfall that revitalized the soil and set the stage for healthy vine growth, and a balanced crop. Summer was marked by mostly moderate temperatures with a brief burst of warmth around Labor Day, where well-developed canopies shielded the fruit from excess heat. As harvest approached, mild daytime temperatures and cool nights arrived, allowing for steady ripening into September. The resulting wines showcase beautiful color and depth, with precise acidity, rich texture, and concentrated flavors.
